Complete Control

Style choices

OmniPage Web gives you extensive control over the look and operation of your Web documents, beginning with choices regarding HTML support levels and including design tools that affect navigation, graphics, banners and other components.

HTML options

OmniPage Web supports all levels of HTML, from plain text through Dynamic HTML (DHTML). It includes a full range of formatting style tags, including font, style, color, text size, thickness of borders, and backgrounds. These tags apply to all components, including headings, body text, captions, cross links, headers and footers.

You can choose to use cascading style sheets (CSS), part of the DHTML standard (if supported by your browser version), for the broadest range of style options. You can also choose to use frames, in which one section of a page operates independently from the rest of the page. Or, for universal browser support, you can choose plain HTML.

Web Design Tools

OmniPage Web provides a wide variety of tools to let you modify the look and organization of your document. For example, the program automatically generates a navigation panel at the top and/or bottom of the Web page. You can choose to represent these navigation controls using text links, their own icons or those provided in the OmniPage Web icon gallery.

OmniPage Web generates a table of contents (TOC) in which each entry is a hyperlink to the appropriate section of the Web site. You can specify how many heading levels to include in the TOC. OmniPage Web can also create a local TOC that will appear at the top of each HTML page.

OmniPage Web lets you divide documents either at certain heading levels, at the original page breaks, or not at all. At each file division, OmniPage Web creates a separate HTML page.

You can designate your own bitmaps, image maps or HTML banners that will appear at the top and bottom of each generated HTML page. You can also add a page signature or copyright statement at the bottom of each page.

OmniPage Web offers the ability to preserve the images of the original scanned pages and link to them from the corresponding HTML text. The scanned image becomes an image map with each element linked through to its counterpart in the HTML text.

OmniPage Web provides 20 predefined themes, each of which offers its own unique look, giving you a quick and easy way to enhance the style of your Web page. You can select from predefined themes, modify them, or create and save your own.

You can retain color graphics as part of your HTML page, included in the flow of the text or represented with links that can be either clickable thumbnails or image links.

OmniPage Web automatically inserts horizontal rules before every section and in the navigation panel. You can designate the heading level of the rules and modify their appearance.
